FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Families,

Hooray! We are back on site!

The ‘circuit breaker’ lockdown has worked and students and staff were able to return to learning within classrooms and school grounds.

I thank everyone for your support and flexibility during these unpredictable times. Our families have been incredible, our students have shown resilience and our staff have prioritised student learning and wellbeing. What a fabulous community!

Please find below reminders of the restrictions that continue and/or are now in place to ensure that we can operate safely within a ‘COVID normal’ world.

In line with Government and Catholic Education guidelines, parent access to the school grounds and buildings will continue to be minimised. If you can communicate with teachers or administration staff via phone or email please do so. We understand that there will be occasions when it is necessary for parents and carers to attend onsite. On these occasions please ensure that you:

  • Wear a face mask
  • Register with our QR code
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Use hand sanitiser

ASH WEDNESDAY

Ash Wednesday is an important time for our Catholic community. It marks the beginning of the season of Lent. A time of prayer, repentance, fasting, reflection, and ultimately celebration.

From Jan Richardson’s Blessing of the Dust;

This is the moment

we ask for the blessing

that lives within

the ancient ashes,

that makes its home

inside the soil of

this ancient earth.

So let us be marked

not for sorrow.

And let us be marked

not for shame.

Let us be marked

not for false humility

or for thinking

we are less

than we are

But for claiming

what God can do

within the dust,

within the dirt

within the stuff

of which the world

is made

and the stars that blaze

in our bones

and the galaxies that spiral

inside the smudge we bear

Every blessing for this Lenten season

Roxanne
