FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Tomorrow, parents and caregivers will receive the Semester Two reports. As the school office has already communicated to our community, this year you will need to access this document via our new Parent Access Module (PAM) which will be familiar to those of you with children at Marian College. PAM enables us to streamline the communication between home and school and makes life simpler for both the school and parents.
Along with this report, you will also receive information explaining changes to the report format for this semester. As you would appreciate, this year has been an extremely challenging one for both parents and our staff. Although we have had the children back at school this term, only having one term to collect relevant and meaningful data, especially after such a long period of absence from school during Term Three, has made it much more difficult for teachers to gain an accurate picture on the progress of children. Consequently, and similar to many other schools, we have had to make adjustments to this semester’s report to recognise the different realities that our teachers have faced this semester. The information in relation to this semester's reports was discussed with parents at the recent parent-teacher interviews, however, if you have any questions about the report your child receives, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.
One a different note, we have put one further piece of our staffing puzzle into place for next year. I can announce to the school community that the other teacher working with Georgie Peel in our Middle Learning Community will be Jessica McMahon who is currently already in this Learning Community. This will help ensure some consistency for children in this community as they move into next year.
God Bless
Bill Hill
