FRIDAY 4 JUNE 2021
From the Principal
Dear Families,
It was fantastic to see our students return to onsite learning today! This morning The Hub was buzzing with chatter and laughter as people reconnected with one another.
I would like to thank our fabulous staff team who, once again, worked promptly to provide learning resources for remote learning at short notice. If you have any feedback about the learning provided or the processes we have in place please make contact with us. We will continue to partner with families to improve our practice and, as always, we welcome the conversation.
I would also like to thank our families and our students. I know that it is a big ask for families to juggle work, parenting, and learning at home. It was fantastic that we were all able to rally and comply with the state government requirements.
The latest COVID-safe guidelines for regional schools have been released and the following regulations are of importance for families. Please note that until further notice:
- non-essential visitors are not permitted on school sites
- all entering the school site must wear a mask
- visitors to the front office must check in using the QR code provided
We will continue our practices of cleaning surfaces, encouraging ventilation and social distancing where possible. Very importantly, please keep children home if they are unwell. If children develop cold/flu like symptoms while at school, we will contact families to collect their child from the front office.
It is great that we are able to return to school. Let's all stay safe and be conscious of the appropriate measures in place.
Every blessing,
Roxanne
Black Ranges Winter Sports Carnival
An excited group of Grade 5 & 6 netballers and footballers made their way on a bus to Stawell last Wednesday to participate in the Winter Sports Carnival. One football team and two netball teams spent the day competing against schools from Stawell, Ararat, Minyip and Donald.
All students participated positively and fairly on the day and should be very proud of their efforts. The collaboration and team spirit that students displayed was terrific, as students learned new skills, the experienced shared their knowledge with those new to football or netball, and all got in and gave it their best. All teams even managed some wins on the scoreboard for the day.
Well done to all involved on the day including Mr O, Mrs Price, Ms Taylor and Gez for spending the day organising, cheering, encouraging and supporting.
Seeking bread bags & tags!
St Mary's has just signed up to be part of the Wonder Recycling Rewards Program for schools, which contributes to recycling and making play equipment for schools throughout Australia.
We are seeking any empty plastic bread bags and tags that families may have, which can be put into the large collection bin situated in the office foyer. The more we collect, the more reward points we gain to redeem new sports equipment for the school! Please see flyer below.
