From our Principal
Dear families,
Today is the Feast of Saints Anne & Joachim, parents of Mary and grandparents of Jesus. This is a beautiful feast day and one which invites us to remember our grandparents, those who are still with us and those who we remember, and give thanks for the gift of their lives. The image below captures the three generations of the Holy Family in this gorgeous picture, complete with their pets! How many of us have a similar picture of our families in our homes?
Saints Anne and Joachim bless all our families today just as you blessed yours!
Every blessing for the week ahead.
Roxanne

St Mary's Olympics in PE
Whilst the Olympics are on over in Paris, we are going to be running our very own 'Olympics' here at
St Mary's during our Physical Education (PE) lessons
Each student is going to be assigned a country and compete for that country over their two PE lessons. This is going to run in conjunction with our normal PE schedule.
JLC students will be playing Target Games
MLC students will be playing Cooperative Games
SLC students will be focusing on games that harness their Fundamental Motor Skills (FMS)
On Friday 16th August at 2.30pm, our winning country will be announced!
BankFirst Teacher Initiatives Program grant
Thanks to our wonderful music & performing arts teacher Elissa, our school has recently won a $2000 grant from the Teacher Initiatives Program from BankFirst!
This morning Shane from BankFirst presented us with our grant and received a special performance of Waltzing Matilda from our senior students.
We will be using the money to buy a class set of ukuleles so that all students have a ukulele to practise on, and also to make sure there are enough ukuleles here for people to play at our Community Music sessions.
