Senior Learning Community News
Joe McCracken talks to the Senior Learning Community
This semester, the Senior Learning Community has been studying democracy and government. Joe McCracken, who is a local member of the State Parliament and a Member of the Upper House, was invited to come and speak to the group. Joe was very informative and gave many examples to enhance the children's understanding of Government.
He had been a local councillor and mayor in Colac before being elected to State Parliament. He also talked about the Federal Parliament and one of the important understandings developed was which level of government - local, state or federal - provided which services. The children showed their understanding by asking some excellent questions, they listened attentively and further questions helped the conversation flow and their knowledge build.

SLC - Beatitudes
Our students have been learning about Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount in the Bible. They then came up with ther own beatitudes, relevant to today's society and created artwork to go with it.
