Dear families,
Congratulations to our 3/4 team who had a very successful camp experience. The Warrnambool weather was kind as the students engaged in a range of activities that develop their ability to problem solve, cooperate, respect each other's differences and use their own personal strengths to help others. Well done to all the students and to Ben, Gabby, Jo and Jocelyn who ensured camp was a safe, enjoyable and successful experience for everyone.
Due to changes within the new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement for school staff, Diocese Of Ballarat Catholic Education Limited (DOBCEL) Primary schools are advised to enact the following 2023 calendar:
Student last day: Friday 15th December (usual 3:15pm finish)
Staff last day: Monday 18th December
Our staff team has been working closely with Law Architects to refine the plans for our new learning spaces. Successful school design is a combination of both education and design disciplines coming together to form a single coherent narrative focused on quality educational outcomes. The key insights for our project include;
- Establishing spaces for student-centred pedagogies that develop agency and learner expertise
- Increasing opportunity for collaboration for students and staff
- Supporting family engagement and visitor experience through welcoming environments and meaningful connections
- Generating a sense of identity drawing on Catholic traditions and rituals including our Brigidine charism
- Providing learning spaces that support collaborative practices
- Increasing connections between St Mary’s, Marian College and the Parish
- Improving opportunities for active play and outdoor learning
I am very much looking forward to sharing some design plans with you soon - alternatively - you can pop into the office and have a peak at the hard copy printouts in the foyer.
